You start out playing the main campaign in episode 1. You’ll get a tutorial about making reactions that tells you to combine Earth and Fire to create Lava. Basically, the entire game works like this. I’ll show reactions like this:

The bold indicator on Lava indicates that this is a new element. This lets you know whether it is safe to continue if you want to make a few more reactions when your glow has reached 0%.
There are also hints available that can point you in the right direction or just outright make a new reaction for you. Do not use any hints during episode 1 or you will miss out on achievement. Of course, you have this guide so why would you need hints?

In order to proceed to episode 2, you also have to unlock the chapter 1 artifact so go back to the main menu and select Artifacts. Artifacts are built using three elements. Every element you’ve unlocked so far is available for use.
Episode 1 only has one required Artifact: Stonehenge. It’s the one on the right of the top row. It is built from Stone + Stone + Stone.
Now go back to the main story and choose episode 2.
Episode 2 is a direct continuation of episode 1 – you have all of the elements you unlocked there. You also get a new element “Void”. To finish episode 2, you have to complete all of the available elements. Note that there are more than 100 elements possible in episode 1 so it is possible to have a different set of starting elements than what this guide would list.
